So what happened exactly? Did part of the mount snap off, resulting in a hole?

I dont know what happened. My CEL came on while i was driving. I disconnected my battery and it went away for a while then came back. I know something was going on and started checking around. Thats when i found this hole. Ive only had it for about 2 months. And yes that part got ripped off causing a hole.

Nate's is a CAI, so the whole is in a different spot, but still, who knows what caused it

rofl Good one.

But anyways, it looks like a shitty welding job to me.

EDIT: Or perhaps there was some stress on that certain mounting point to make it snap off?

I'm going to take a close look at my Injen SRI tonite. Thanks for the info, let us know when you hear back from Injen. They produce so many intakes for different applications I think that if this was a widespread problem it would be talked about a lot.

sh*tty way to be in the market for one, but atleast no harm was done to the engine. But yeah, the Blitz intake is awsome, you'll love it, if you decide to get it.

I would rather just get a new intake than have to worry about it breaking again and something getting sucked into the engine.

Some of the ugliest things took the longest time to make
