I have a huge 4 1/2 inch hks exhaust (400 bux for just the muffler) and it sounded real good at first. But over about 8 months of having it on my 2000 GTS... It is starting to pop and not sound as good. Is there anyway to clean it or anything I could do to fix the problem.

I'm confused: do you have the full exhaust or just the muffler?

$400 for just a canister is a lot thumbsdown but yeah, if you look at the exhaust reviews, almost no one who has this exhaust likes it. It tends to rust after a yr. that's probably what happened to your canister.

the pop might be caused by a back firing

I went to Craig Paisleys shop here on Long island.. he is the guy with the 8 second Supra.. and he stopped selling the HKS exhaust systems for the Celica's because there was a problem with it.. it would crack, rust or corrode on the inside of the canister.. he is a huge part of the racing world.. and he knows what he is talkin about!
