Some of you may already know, but I was involved in a wreck recently. A couple of friends of mine drove down with me from school to pick up my celi from the shop (new alternator put in). I gave my friend the keys to the Camry and I got the car out of the shopm so we started to my house so we could grab something to eat before heading back. Well, we had to go over a bridge that was having construction done. While on the very middle, an old lady hit her brakes in front of me. I hit mine and stopped in time. The girl behind me did the same, but my friend driving my Camry did not. He hit the girl behind me, who then hit me, and then I hit the old lady. The wreck was deemed my friends fault and he recieved a ticket for it. Also, since he was driving my car, it would all fall under my insurance. Luckily I've contacted those involved and they've agreed not to turn it in to their insurance agents. Instead, my friend's going to cut a check for the damage done. The camry sustained an estimated $1800 and the Celi has about $700. Overall, it hasn't been a good week. On the upside, everyone's ok. Just thought I'd share.

At least your friend did the right thing by paying for the damage, and you didn't have to wind up suing him or something. It's also good that no one in the wreck decided to report the damages to insurance.

Hey, it could have been worse. I think everything turned out great given what happened. You should be happy that more damage wasn't caused cause that would have sucked.

Sorry to hear...at least everyone is okay. smile

Also good to see that your friend is taking responsibility. thumbsup

Something similar happened to me when I first got my license. Chain reaction rear ending. Ever since then, I follow the 4 second rule. That gives you plenty of time to stop if someone does a short stop in front of you. smile

Damn man...That sucks. I've been in two wrecks already. I crashed my mom's BRAND NEW explorer, and I totaled my 90 celica, which is why I now got a 2004 grin

Yeah, not too many people would assume responsibility

i can't beleive all 3 or you (4 - old lady = 3) didn't get ticketed.

WHENEVER you hit someone in front of you it's ALWAYS considerred your fault. even if someone pushed you into another person, then you were stopped too close to that person and both of you are ticketed (you, and the one who did the pushing).

so just be glad only 1 ticket resulted from the 4 car accident. it should have been 3.

I think we didn't get ticketed because we actually stopped in time. I mean, no one leaves space for them to move if they're gonna get hit when they stop behind someone, so how can you get a ticket for it?
