OK, here it is. I have my body kit for 3 months now and I figure what the hell I'll finally get it put on. Thing is I know the body shops in this town of Jacksonville florida wouldn't take the time to prep my body kit to my standards and I don't have any connections in the auto body catagory. So what exactly do I need to do to prep the body kit myself. Its already been primered but its a totally sh*t job so I wanna fix that problem myself. Should I sand it by hand or should a use a sander machine and should I start with something course and work my way down to a finer grit sandpaper? I'm just curious because i've never done this before. There's also a couple of dings in the fiber glass I wanna get rid of. I'm guessing filling them in with some sort of epoxy or bondo. Any suggestions on that. I also have a paint gun so I may as well put the primer on myself. I have a silver celica so is there a particular shade of primer I should use? Also I wanna put some mesh on the inside. Any suggestions on what type of mesh to use and how to put it on. I was thinking about cutting out the desired shaped and making it slightly bigger and bending the entire edge putting it on and epoxying around the edge. Should I get the Mesh painted the same color or leave alone? Some one hook me up with some suggestions please.

how bad is the priming job? if it's really bad, use a coarser paper and work to a finer grit. start with a 150 grit dry and work down to a 400 grit wet. fill the holes w/ bondo, make sure to sand those down evenly. doesn't matter wat type of primer you use because the paint will go right over it, white is usually good tho.

u can get mesh grill at home depot. cut it about an inch longer than the actual hole. do not epoxy/bondo it onto the bumper because you don't want to have that painted along w/ the bumper. use bondo and apply about 1-2" lengths of wire onto the inside edges of the hole. it should look like a Q tip. put the grill over that and bend the wires outward so that it holds the grill in.

that's all i can say. if you have any other questions, just post them up. good luck.
