haha... no... you wouldnt need to because its electric... its better than a throttle cable.

DBW was thought to be hard to turbo, but companies are findind their way around it.

I think its only the 2k3's and up that have drive by wire. The bad thing about the 2k2's is that the ecu only lets you rev up to 7800 I believe. This is a bad thing because it makes it almost impossible to land back in lift. Back to drive by wire, this is a problem because it makes it harder to add a turbo. I think any turbo kit that is out now is only made for 2000-2002.

Exactly, I always wondered though why the dbw is hard to turbo though.

the reason is because of the extra wiring...and there's only like 3 that go into the ecu if i remember correctly...it's not too much difficult to make a kit for it from what i've read.
anyway, i heard stafford was planning on making a kit for the gts.
they already have a kit out for the 03+dbw celica gt models.

04 has some restictor on the exhaust which makes it hard for a aftermarket header i believe i read that somewhere, 00 has closer shift gates which can be nice, but IMO because i have one too so a little bias the 03 is the best year it has teh darker interior and it looks nicer on the inside, the shifter is more smooth IMO, but its always up to you
