Exchanging Rear Drum Brakes to Disk

I have a 2003 Celica GT with front Disk, but rear Drum with the 15 inch Alloy rims. I want to exchange the rear drums with disks, and I was thinking about going to the junk yard to strip the parts off of a wrecked celica. Can anyone tell me if i need more than just the disks and the calipers? Do i have to mod anything else?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

you need a conversion kit so that it fits... you cant just take off the drum and stick a disk on... plus you need brake lines ect...

Is it really worth it to convert the rear's on a GT, or just get a big brake kit for the front's like rotora?

Wait so 600 for all cables, disk, calipers and everything needed for the conversion?

What exactly do i have to convert? I can't just rip out the rear disks out of a wrecked celica and slap them in? (The cheap route)?

I've already checked into this to some extent. You will need the rotors, calipers, spindles, and also the e-brake cables from a wrecked GTS. When I was thinking of doing this a rear clip from a GTS was $600.00 and that was good guy price. After weighing the cost as opposed to functionality I scrapped the idea.

i agree performance wise its not really worth it. But i wanna do it for a show point of view. I dont wanna get my rims and have on 18's with dinky little drum brakes on the back.

That would be pretty if you did get those. Aren't the front ones smaller, like 10" rotors? The kit includes a 12" rotor which you need at least 16" rear wheels. I've never seen a car with rear brake rotors larger than the fronts. It doesn't make sense since most of the stopping power is going to be coming from the front brakes anyways.

One of the best mods you can do for a gt.

stopping power on the gts is far supperior to the gt.

IT IS WHAT IT IS AND EVERYTHING IS EVERYTHING.

I would think so cause the rear would be set up like a GTS. But the kit already come with 13 inch rotors.
