i never had an adjustable suspension b4. so, i just upgraded to new height adj coilovers. the ride is somewhat bouncy at the low height (about a 2 inch drop from stock). i understand the ride would be different but i didn't want the "cut coils" feel. will raising the car a tad (about 1/2 inch) improve that issue?

Probably not. If you're on a 35 series tire, you should upgrade to a 40 tire are your current set wears out. There's not much you can do to get rid of the stiff ride. That's the price we all have to pay for coilovers, but it's definetely worth it you drive hard.

That's weird. When I used to have my stock wheels with my coilovers the ride was smooth. I dunno why your ride is bouncy. It might be the way that your coilovers are set up. Have you tried adjusting the knob to stiffen up the ride so it doesn't bounce alot. The only way that you're gonna feel a difference is if you raise it all the way up, but then that neglects the point of lowering your car.

I have my front dropped all the way down 2 1/4" drop & the rear is 2" and my ride is stiff 'cuz I have a 35 series yoko's, but it's no where near bouncy like you described. B&G coilovers I've never heard of.

With Tanabe I can always change the spring rate & make it smoother or stiffer. If you really get tired of the bouncy ride you could always sell them & get Tanabe or Tein coilovers, or you could get lowering springs & struts.

I used to have a bouncy ride with my coilovers, then I switched to others and its much better now.

ugh, may be the brand. b&g made the coilovers on the widebody gt300. no adj dampening ("proprietary speed sensitive technology") but someone who has it on their celica said ride was nice when raised but rough when lowered. they mentioned they wish they had dampening adj, though. too late to change now. i'll try to raise the car a little and see if it helps. otherwise i have to get used to it. actually isn't too bad but is more like a "boingy" feel over some bumps. maybe someday i'll go with jic or zeal
