I'm in the market shopping for my very first body kit and I've came across a dilemma: Fibreglass or Urethane? A sales representative told me that urethane body kits are far superior b/c they do not chip as easily, are more flexible, easier to paint, and molds around my car better. He added that to maintain a fibreglass kit, I'll have to retouch it every two years or so... Please let me in on your experience. Thx.

Urethane kits are better, they hold up better to everyday driving, and instead of breaking when hit like fiberglass, urethane will just bend. Your stock front and back bumper are urethane if you were curious. The downfall to urethane is that it is more expensive in most instances.

many people think that a urithane kit can not be considerd a true aero part, since it is so heavy that it actually slows you down (not noticably). when i get a kit im going to get Fglass. its a lot lighter, and its cheeper

I know that the "Action Package" from the dealer is urethane.

yeah i would go with Urethane. Fiberglass is a pain unless you get the high quality stuff. I have a RMM urethane front and its way better than the RMM sides. I get less rock chips and the sides make too much noise.

Go urethane... I hit a chair that fell off a truck going 60mph on the freeway and all i have is some stress cracks on my paint. It maybe more expensive but in the end it is worth it. thumbsup

Go Urethane.
I doubt the weight difference is even noticeable.
If so, lose a few pounds smile

urethane: heavier, stronger, more expensive to paint
fiberglass: light, cheap to paint*, chips, considered a true aero part

please make sure before you post .. you verify LOL hahaha

as per the Ecelica store.. BOMEX is not urethane
here is the quote:
"Bomex believes that sprayed fiberglass and urethane kits are too heavy and not as strong as hand laid fiberglass."
