Well I bought my 2001 GTS with 9000 miles about a year ago. It came with an alarm, but now I also think it might have come with a shortshifter. Here is a picture of my shifter. Can someone tell me if this looks like a shortshifter, maybe TRD?

Note: Please excuse the Rice LED Shift knob, Its going to be gone soon...

I think you would have noticed it when you bought it. That's not somthing that whomever was selling it would forget to tell you. My guess, no.

it does look shorter than stock to me... but that doesn't mean that maybe the shaft wasn't cut. Is the threading still on the top of the shaft?

It looks shorter just from the leather boot being tucked down a lil bit lower into the center console. One reason that it might look shorter though is how much of shaft is burried into the center of the knob. I'm not sure though. It does look a lil bit shorter. You can also try and check the part number...

Buy measuring the plastic piece around the shifter, I drew a line for the distance and then duplicated the line and moved it so it was vertical. I did the same for the other picture. To looks to me that there are the same height, stock height.

His shift knob little bit longer. You have to take the measurements to the Plastic ring (Between the boot and the knob)
