i was thinking about removing the stock muffler then just puting a straight pipe axle back. but still having the capabilty of switching them back and forth. with an hours amount of work. do you think there would b any kind of gain? and what do you think it sound like? open to all suggestions and comment

i figured it would only be like 100 compared to the trd for 450, and even get a lil more performance

It's going to sound horrible. I once had an exhaust leak on my other car, so air was coming straight off the catylic converter, I thought it sounded horrible. You could try it and see if you like it, but i didn't.

It won't sound too bad if it's done right. done right meaning quality TIG welds with no exhaust pipe rattling. However, a leak in the system does sound like crap, I had one. Getting a straight pipe is not for the show car. It is strictly for performance and only a select few appreicate it's functionality. Also, few actually spend the money to do it right.

take your axle back off, and rev. thats about how it will sound

except it will be more raspy since you'd still have your cat and resonator. take your midpipe off and rev then that will let youknow how it'll sound.
