www.teamphotoshop.com [
teamphotoshop.com] Is a good website for references. But the REAL core of knowledge is in those Photoshop books. If you have a Borders or a barnes and noble near you, go and check out the books that they have available. That's how I've gotten to the point at which i am. Self help, that's the way.
When it come to programs such as Photoshop and Painter, your work is only limited to your imagination. (As corny as it sounds) One other thing that i always do, that you can too if you want to delve into the world of design is to keep current with all the major web-design and graphic design companies. I follow

I believe that the most important thing in your own design is to truly never give up. I've been designing for Almost 6 years now (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Painter, Indesign, Imageready, Paint shop Pro, the list goes on.) You always have to remember that "Rome wasn't built in a day" (Another corny analogy!) One rule of thumb that I ask myslelf in all aspects of life, including graphic design is "What will set me apart from the rest?"
