14hp or 5hp?! what is TRD doing? please explain.

hey gyus. inkow this may seem like a silly question but how is it that a TRD exhaust was dynoed (on a GTS no less) at 5 point something hp when they are being advertised at 14hp on ads and catalogs. now i can understand dyno numbers are calculated @ the wheels but isn't there only a 15% diffrence in manual and 20% diffrence in automatics??? im confused...and dissapointed. i thougt with all the mods i got i could at least be touching 155hp. i wouldn't care that much anyway...love my TRD. the "growl" sounds cool plus makes my Intake sound louder thumbsup

Hey Ive been thinking the same thing. Its kind of stupid that they do that. TRD claims to add 14 HP but from what Ive been told, it gives maybe 10 HP, I guess if your lucky. I dont believe any Manufactures any more. Like have you ever seen the Celica dyno at AEMs web site, it says corrected Horse power is about 10 HP and the largest gain like almost 18 HP when actually you will be getting like 6 HP. <img src=" title="" src="graemlins/bs.gif" />

I read a couple years back that the claimed peak HP jump is only at the point of Lift.
