I'm ordering the Vis Invader hood, and am not sure whether or not to get hood pins. What exactly do they do? I've heard that there's a chance the hood might fly off at high speeds? Is this true, or BS? I don't really like the look of them on the hood, and didn't want to get them if it's not necessary...Any help would be great thumbsup

VIS claims they are not necessary and judging by the fit of my hood and how securely it latches I have decided not to get any for my Invader hood right now. It's up to you really...I've driven on the highway a lot with my new hood and haven't felt in any danger but hoodpins are a lot cheaper than the damage if something did happen.

i would put them on... but powdercoat them black first.

its safer, cheap insurance and kinda intimidating.

Amen. You can get them powder coated like someone already suggested so they aren't as visible. Or just buy some black or gm colored ones.. do a search, you'll find some.

Here's the ones I ordered. They're "titanium," which is about the same as gunmetal.
