He's not saying the laws conflict. He's saying that the state cops don't enforce a petty law, whereas the local ones do.

ya, i know that. im just saying that if they really do give you a ticket.. the state law says you dont need a license plate on the front of the car, so then the local law is disreguarded

Not so. The local law can be MORE strict than the state law. The only thing it cannot do is CONTRADICT the state law.

For example.. if the state law says that no highway may have a speed limit above 70, a local street can have a speed limit of 55 and that's fine.. it just can't be 75, because that would be in opposition to the state law.

Doesn't it suck? When I was 15 + 1/2 (driving with a learner's permit), I was in the fast lane on the freeway and my dad was in the passenger seat .. so far so good. I look up and see this unmarked car behind me with his lights on. Just then, I realized I didn't have my permit WITH ME. eek

So I signal and move over to the next lane, thinking I'm screwed. Luckily he gunned and flew right past me. He was after someone else grin

it's a NJ State Law that a registered NJ drive needs a front license plate...so, i'm gonna get it put on next time i'm at Toyota and avoid all possible cops.

i also hate the feeling when they follow you...because he was for a long time and i didn't even know it...thank god it wasn't for speeding caue i was probably doing 10 over.

It'll look alright if you can mount a custom bracket in the opening, instead of drilling it like the stock ones.

Yeah that's retarded. I hate front liscense plates. I was thinking about making some kind of Magnetic coupler where if a cop pulls me over, i could just say "Oh im sorry, i just came back from a car show. Here I'll put the plate back on right now." And just slap it on there using the magnets to make him feel all salty. Then when i get home, just take that shit off.

The best thing is the pivot-mount plate my friend made. When you're driving, the wind makes the bottom of the plate lift up to be flush with the car. You wouldn't believe how many police have pulled him over to give him a ticket for no plate, only to say outloud "what the flying fuck?!" when they see there is now one mounted on the car. grin

why not just put a grill in the diffuser area and mount the plate to that. that way you don't mess up your sweet looking front end.

then all the cop has to do is push on the plate, can be cited for improper mounting

Yeah, that is what I said to him when he told me about the idea. Somehow its worked for him though. Of course, with my luck, they'd say that it was a sign I street raced and arrest me. rofl

when i get pulled over for no plates, (usually because i dont want to get bused by a photo radar) i just get out really really fast and run to the back of the car and yell "where the hell is my plate" then i run around front and check and see there is none, then i tell the cop that this happends every month atleast once!! (though i actually have the plates in the trunk) god damn apartments!

VSGTS14 consider yourself lucky. I've gotten 5 tickets since last December for no front plate-the dollars add up!
I read your other thread on getting a ticket...dude, it's just a little bad luck. Don't sweat it.
