Anyone know if The Ultimate Celica is on the market?

Hey I know that Rod Millen has one, but is Toyota USA selling any of the Ultimate Celicas?

That would be so sweet, 500 hp...*drools*
Why didnt Toyota put that kind of power into a regular GT or GTS grin ?

Toyota will never put it into production 'cuz it's a one-off by Rod Millen. If you want 500hp all you need is $10k & drop in a 3sgte engine.

it was $500,000 and blew a transmission the first time it was driven.

Rod Millen put a Lexus GS 300 engine in an IS 300 on a past show of "Rides" on TLC. I'm not sure, but I think they named it GS 430. I have the episode on my Tivo recorder. I'm not sure if I got the model names right.

Ultimate Celica

TRD did this concept vehicle. Into a new-generation Celica it inserted the 2.0-liter, four-cylinder 3SG engine and drivetrain from the 1988-93 Celica All Trac, added a Garret turbocharger derived from the IMSA GTP Toyota racecars, added an Apex fuel management system and ended up with a powertrain that produces 500 horsepower and 340 pound-feet of torque. Calty, Toyota's American design studio, did the Champ car-inspired body panels (and nose and rear wing) that widen the car by 3.8 inches in front and by 3.2 inches in the rear. Those panels help cover 19-inch BBS magnesium racing wheels covered by 245/35 Michelin Pilot performance tires. To stop this monster, 12.3 x 1.26 ventilated front discs with four-piston calipers and 12.3 x .63 ventilated rear discs with two-piston calipers are used. The front suspension features Toyota Superstruts with Bilstein shock cartridges while the rear is an independent dual-link setup with Bilstein struts. Completing the package are a racing fuel call; high-temperature, stainless steel Inconel exhaust; Recaro sport seats with four-point racing harnesses; and an integrated roll cage from Rod Millen Motorsports.

thats the difference between workong for two world-known companies to produce a concept vehicle...

and working out of a bodyshop to create a personalised "kit-car"

I once had a supervisor that had a single turbo Buick grand national. It had 545 at the wheels. It was ridiculuous, he let me drive it. "After you go around this corner stomp on the gas" He says. So i did! I couldn't keep it in one lane! That thing went from 0-100 in like 4 seconds or some whacked out num,ber like that.

Knowing the path and choosing the path are two different things.
