questions about cold air intake installation

I just finished installing my Intake, it took me about 4 hours, only becuase i also installed a grounding kit, apr bar and the Intake, but i have a question, the engine sounds nice and it seems to be working good, but i have a leftover part, and i dont know if its normal, i wanted to post a pic of it but its too late, its dark outside, so ill describe it the best i can, its the part that goes directly under the stock airbox butterfly valve, one of its hoses went to the butterfly vavle, but its left over and theres no instructions on how to get rid of it, any clues, thanks
