The Celi GT has a fuel cutoff at 6200 or 6700, not sure, but either way, couldnt you get rid of the rev limiter to be able to rev past that, and what would be the safest to go up too.. Also, by adding mods, would you increase your rev limitations, so rather then the gt limiting at 6700 it can do 7000, what will let you go higher and how would you know how high you can go, i know that youd have to buy a new tach, and program it so that it tells you to shift at whatever rpm you want, but how would you know where you can shift up too, and can you add more rpm range??

If I'm not wrong only 2002 models have that "OPTION" you are wrong. all 7th gen GT's have a rev limiter somewhere around 6700-6800 and if you can find a way to rev higher you risk valve float and other problems with the valve train and pistons ect... you would need a piggyback for the ECU or a replacement ECU with new fuel maps ect.. the higher you rev, the more heat and heat is the great destroyer. Plus, there's nothing thats gonna add power up there. once you pass an engines peak hp curve you end up putting less power to the wheels. If you had cams or FI, then there might be a benefit to reving higher.

Only if your upgrading something like cam gears or adding a larger size turbo, and yes, i have an 00 gt and it kicks in at around 6800-6900, i know cause i let my friend drive today and he had to test it out.

So if i do complete internals, then i would want to go past that, correct?? there arent complete internals out there for the GT. Cams being the key internal that would actually make the power in higher RPM's. but theoretically, if your engine had complete internals -- cams, pistons, rings, connecting rods, valves, vavle springs ect... AND a piggyback for the ecu (that doesnt exinst at the moment) you could rev higher and benefit from it.

so what internals are offered for the gt at the moment, and where could i buy them, and where would be there best deal and quality to buy them from??

i had a feeling thats all its about, now given, if you had turbo, internals, then id say fine, but its stupid when cars like civics and what not use it, i dont know why!!, but if they use only the shifter, thats different, i can understand that!! THeres logic in that, so what internals are there for the gt??

I think most aftermarket tachs go to 10grand either way. Dont they? If you wanna rev higher you need valve springs and retainers. Im sure there is a selection of different internals for the gt celicas.

y would you want to shift higher ur suposed to shit at 6600 to 6800 cause that is where ur poweband is and is were you have the most hp after that you lose hp so shifting higher would just result in loss of hp

To make th GT brev higher is a very easy and cheap mod. But you should know why you do it. An OEM GT with higher rev would be a waste.If you have nitro and dont want to risk fuel cut off then its a great idea to remove rev limiter. Or if you have serious mods when power courve`s shape changes then also a good idea if there is good power over 6700rpm.
