i just have a quick question...i was one of the un- informed people to by the gts auto...i had no idea it was like 2 secs slower! but now i'm stuck with it. what mods can i do to improve my launch and be able to drive into red a lil' more. i already have cai and exhaust, i heard a torque/stall converter would help greatly, would it?

Sorry my frend but it's not a lot you can do to make it faster...
Best for you to upgrade your suspention and make your interior/exterior looks better.
Or just exchange it to GTS with manual transmition...but you will lose some money.

Yup, if I were you, I would take a loss, and trade it in for a manual...You won't regret it thumbsup

A girl I know is in the same boat as you with a 2000 GTS auto. I have told her the same thing I'm going to tell you. Trade it in for a manual Celica, a high mileage S2000 manual, a high mileage BMW manual, or anything else like a WRX (certified of course) and cut your loses. In the future when you buy a sports car get a manual even if you can't drive one. It only takes a week behind the wheel to be a pro. Don't be intimidated by a clutch and a stick.

Exactly. When I bought my new celica a few weeks ago, I had NO clue how to drive stick laughsilly. I bought it anyways and am SO glad I didn't get an auto...Autos suck thumbsdown

A higher stall torque converter will help your launch, but it doesn't make any difference after that. I have also heard (but not seen proof) that groundwires help your bottom end a little, which is what you need most on an auto

I have heard it both ways, but their cheap ($50) and they don't hurt anything. I have some sitting in my garage waiting to install, so I can tell you one way or another once I get them on.

That's $50 you could use towards an intake or header or anything else that has proven performance - My $.02 wink
