drum brakes, what the f**k is that, are they any good, do they actually have any braking power? Why would toyota put 4 disck brakes on gts and then 2 disc brakes and 2 drum brakes on gt?

drum brakes are cheaper and do not stop as well.

well...they do stop as well...but just that they cant release the heat as well as the disks since the disks have surfaces touching air...

It's very common know for companies to use drums in the back especially with lighter vehicles. Volkswagen for the longest time wouldn't even use 4 wheel disks. Said it was useless (that changed though) think about it , for the longest time ever one and their dogs was placing ABS on their cars. The problem was a lot of ppl didn't know how to use them. Duh , slam on the brakes and don't let go. Yes the shaking of the car is what's supposed to happen. The brakes are release a lil at a time so your car doesn't go into a four wheel power slide and crash. The problem was ppl where feathering the brakes and thus ABS became a useless upgrade. Drums are comparable to disk with an experienced driver. Although I would love to have the GTS brakes much better. Though if I was still in Canada pulling my E -Brake at ever snowed corner I'd deff. take the drums back. spineyes
