Headlights, High Beams 9005 HALOGEN 65watt

from page 214 of the owners manual...

....

to replace the headlights (high beam)...

1. remove the clips for your engine plastics and take out the cover. In doing so, also remove the washer hose from the notch on the cover

2. Turn bulb base counterclockwise and remove it.

3. Pull bulb out of the bulb base and install a new bulb.
If the connector is tight, wiggle it.

4. Insert the bulb base into the mounting hole by turning is clockwise.
Aiming is not necessary after replacing the bulb. When you believe aiming adjustment is necessary, contact your Toyota dealer

last step - re-install the engine plastics.
(always notch the washer hose before fastening it when installing the engine plastics. This prevents washer hose damage.)

How the hell do you get the clip off to pull the light out? Is the 2003 different the the earlier ones?

I want to know the same thing. I've been trying to get these damn clips off for the past hour and they aren't going anywhere. I've tried unscrewing them, I've tried pushing down... how do you get them off? I have an '03 too. Are they different?

it shows how to get the clips off in the owners manual. Just take a phillips head screwdriver and use it to push down on the circle in the center of the clip, this will unlock it. Then use a a flathead screwdriver to pop out the clip. To reinstall the clips, push the peg back up and reinstall the clip, then push the peg down. It makes sense when you try it, or just look in the owners manual.

Push the large part of the clip down, back and up to remove. to replace the clip, reverse the process, and take your time.
