How To Unbolt Your Exhaust
by Larry Dougherty

1) Unbolt the 2 bolts at the indicated location above..

2) Pull the 2 muffler sections apart from each other
(leave the back section of the muffer still hanging from the rubber hangers)

3) Start your car, and cover your ears.. this is LOUD

Hell yea it should be loud dude, thats straight exaust on a car that redlines around 8500 rpm. If you want a loud car, dont go buy an exaust for it, make your car straight exaust by taking this stuff off!

Extremely loud almost like running a straight pipe. You will smell mad exhaust fumes and experience a lot of backfire. But you can't beat the sound of it, just to crazy for me. I had done it 2 years ago when I first bought my Celica just to see if it would add any horse power almost the same. The best part is that sound which I got pulled over for in Long Beach not quite funny so I ended up paying for a fixer ticket. But worth the experience. [Thumbs up]

unbolted exhaust is so loud specially id u have a intake and a header. I got pulled over for it in Las Vegas, and I got a fixing ticket. If u really want to go extreme remove the whole exhaust and just run with a header. That sounds hella loud.

If you do this, be sure to remove the gasket on the midpipe before driving. If you don't and you drive off, the gasket will fall off and when you tighten your exhaust back up, it will leak at that flange.

when i did this, the two pips rattle a lot when the car is one. How do you make them not touch?

if i were to install the straight exhaust (kazumi or something like that) is there some kind of mute i can put on it? i like the 20hp gain that is advertised but i don't want to attract too much attention from you know who.

u can't stop the sound of a straight pipe without a muffler..i've had experience in this..even a resonator wouldn't do.

How much time would it take and how difficult would it be for me to install A TRD catback Exhaust? I am a former Jeep driver and I'm now trying to get into the world of imports. Any help would be appreciated.

It's easy. Just use a ramp to raise the rear body and some soap the remove the hangers from the rubber. I'd say the hardest part was taking the hangers and don't use WD40 I heard it's not good for rubbers over time. Also, if you don't have air tools, you can use your socket wrench and foot to unbolt it.

Atleast that how I did mine and it only took me almost 2 hours; alone at night and during winter season.
