OK, what is meant by "dynotuning", and is it costly? An acquaintance of mine said if I do put on e.g. CAI and/or other exhaust to improve WHP, then also get your car dynotuned to get them max out of it.

You need to get power FC or something they can really tune to improve your performance. Basically they strap ya on a dyno & tune your car & check the stats & tune & check until they get the most out of it.

1) you need an ECU or piggyback that is tuneable

2) tuning includes a/f ratio, timing retardation/advance, fucking with the rev limiter, lift engaugment, boost settings.

3) you do it on a dyno so that you can see whats making power and whats not.

Dynotuning is hooking your car up to a computer called a dynometer that can read power and various other aspects of your engine through graphs and data. It can be used to tune your car to gain the maximum power curve if your car can be tweaked (need an aftermarket ECU).
