1st off this is for the GT-S people ONLY
Symptoms: If you have problems of losing lift or Lift kicking on late (I.E.- 6500 rpms instead of 6200 rpms) and your lift bolts are NOT broken you'll want to check this filter.
Cause: Small particulates can get stuck inside the metal mesh filter which adds more resistance to the path of the oil. This means the oil take slonger to travel and results in lift coming on late or in severe cases not at all.

Here is the filter itself.

The GT won't have the problems a GT-S has. Both cars have VVTI but a GT doesnt have lift

I also found that this can sometimes cuase a P1692 code. so cleaning it in some cases will clear this code.
